Paul Ellinger, our great friend, coach and vocal trainer paid another visit to the Beehive Statesmen on November 12, 2016.  We all were blesses to be apart of his
WaveBox Singing Workshop.  His 7 concepts to better singing as a chorus are amazing!  He taught us that it is truly...what to think rather than what to do.  There are so
many tricks to our trade, to being the best chorus we can be.  Paul was inspirational, those in attendance were all moved with emotion as we sang together, these skills.

The Beehive Statesmen along with our Director Penny Peshell enjoyed a great day, a great BBQ lunch...our event was held at This is The Place State Park at the Pack Home.

It was a great day!

The Beehive Statesmen Barbershop Chorus "got cultured" with the West Valley Symphony on Monday evening at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center at the outdoor
Amphitheater.  A large lively crowd enjoyed the fusion of great Barbershop Harmony and Symphony favorites.  A rousing rendition of Battle Hymn of the Republic and the Stars and Stripes Forever by the Statesmen and the Symphony combined for a grand finale.  It was a great evening!   Looking forward to singing with the Symphony again!

The Beehive Statesmen returned to the Utah Arts Festival this year to help celebrate it's 40th birthday.  The Statesmen sang an hour-long concert on Thursday, June 23rd, the first day of the festival.  The crowd, swollen by free admission to the festival, was large and appreciative.  The Statesmen, led by assistant director Paul Barlow, and by our new director Penny Peschel, presented a reprise of the Spring show.  The chorus was bolstered by two quartets, 4th Street and SLiCk City and by emcees Doug Jones and John Close. A great time was had by all! Details about the event can be found at City Weekly.

In what has become an annual tradition, the Beehive Statesmen performed an hour-long show as part of the Music-in-the-Park Series (?) at Bingham Young Park.  The weather was perfect, the crowd was large and engaged, and the chords rang and echoed off the downtown towers.  The Statesmen were directed by Paul Barlow and Penny Peschel and augmented by the quartets 4th Street and SLiCk City.  As always, Clark Gable served as host and provided both a space to warm up and afterglow goodies

Barbershop Chords rang loud and clear at the First Baptist Church for the Beehive Statesmen Barbershop Chorus Annual Spring Show.  The acoustics in this Sanctuary were
amazing.  The Beehive Statesmen performed their "Many Loves of Spring" selection of great Barbershop Favorites.  Our Chapter Quartets 4 th Street, and the Deck of Bards entertained the audience.  Thanks also to our Headline Quartet ...Highland Drive.  2011 Rocky Mountain District Quartet Champions.   A great time was had by all!

The Beehive Statesmen Barbershop Chorus had a great time as usual for the Annual St. Patricks Day parade and activites in Salt Lake City.  It was a beautiful day for the parade singing some great Irish Love Songs.

"My Wild Irish Rose"  "Danny Boy" and Irish Blessing.  The morning started off with a special performance for the dignitaries at 9:30 am ... A great time was had by all!

The Beehive Statesmen Barbershop Chorus made a special Valentine's Day delivery on February 13, 2016 to 3 retirement homes.  The residents of Silverado, The Coventry, and Canyon Creek enjoyed some great Valentine's Day Barbershop Harmony including favorites like " Let Me Call You Sweetheart",  "Heart of My Heart" and  "Hey Good Lookin".  Three quartets, Fourth Street, Gray Matters, and SLick City also contributed to the event.  There were plenty of smiles and even a few tears.  It was busy day... but the sea of smiles made it worth all the effort.

Take a listen...

The Beehive Statesmen Chorus, a local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, recently held their annual installation banquet of the 2016 Board on January 6, 2016 held in Downtown Salt Lake City at City Creek Commons.  Each new officer pledged their commitment to uphold the resonsibilites of their office, to  promote Barbershop Harmony with it's brotherhood, keeping in tradition of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

The Beehive Statesmen,   under the direction of Beth Bruce and Paul Barlow, and augmented by North Front Sound, and our Holiday  Community Chorus guests, sang for an appreciative crowd at Assembly Hall on Temple Square on December 23rd, 2015.  The cold night was warmed by the presence of three quartets, Fourth Street, Gray Matters and SLick City, as well the three choruses.  While beautiful sound was produced all evening, the audience was especially impressed by the power and expanded sound of the mass chorus.
